I am Lieven Smits, born at Wilrijk (near Antwerp) September 18, 1964. I am married to Els Oliviers. Our sons are named Maarten and Rutger. My roots are at the Antwerp suburb of Edegem, where I lived between 1966 and 1995. We now live at Glabbeek in the Hageland region.
I know my male-line ancestry until back in the fifteenth century, that's as many as thirteen generations back. There are few people outside nobility who can make that claim. That knowledge is owed to intensive research by my late father.
